Day 1

Arrival in Anchorage

Land in Anchorage, Alaska’s largest metropolis and receive a personal greeting followed by a private transfer to your downtown hotel. Stretch your legs searching for delicious local seafood or get cozy in your hotel room after a day of travel.

Day 2

Anchorage to Whittier - Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center - Board M/V Sea Star

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before meeting your personal driver/guide for your exclusive journey south by private vehicle to Whittier. Along the way, stop in at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, a non-profit that focuses on rescuing and rehabilitating the wildlife of Alaska. Get a personal tour of the facility and up close with a moose while learning about their lifestyle and time at the Center.

The small town of Whittier is accessible via the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel – the longest highway tunnel in North America at 2.5 miles.  The one-lane tunnel operates on a schedule allowing vehicles – and the Alaska Railroad – to share the tunnel at various times. Arrive in Whittier where you will meet the crew of the M/V Sea Star and embark on a cruise through Prince William Sound.

The 95-foot yacht will be your home for the next four nights. Get acquainted with your Captain and crew before settling in and taking in the view of the passing mountains as you make your way to Ester Passage.

Day 3

Explore Egg Rocks, Knight Passage, and Granite Bay

Wake up to the sounds of seabirds and the gentle ocean waves before making your way to the M/V Sea Star’s dining room for a scrumptious breakfast. Spend time with your onboard naturalist and learn about the sailing route for the day as you make your way to Granite Bay. As you cruise by Egg Rocks keep an eye out for Stellar Sea Lions and waterfowl. Upon arrival at Granite Bay, take the boat’s kayaks out to explore the shallow waters or go ashore to stretch your legs on a scenic hike.

Day 4

Cruise by Chenega Glacier into Jackpot Bay

Each morning you will be greeted with beautiful Alaska wilderness scenery in a new, exclusive location by water. Enjoy the peace and quiet that comes with being on an intimate but luxurious cruiseship while you enjoy breakfast and take in the views.

Today, the boat will make it’s way to Jackpot Bay, cruising by Chenega Glacier along the way. This 12-mile long tidewater glacier was named in 1905 after Chenega Island and the nearby community of Chenega Bay. Enjoy breakfast in front of the glacier and watch for the ancient calving ice to make its way into the sea. Continue on to your anchorage for the evening in Jackpot Bay, where you will have the opportunity to test your bravery with a ‘polar plunge’.

Day 5

Bainbridge East Arm Passage

Enjoy another delicious breakfast as the crew hoists anchor and the Captain sets sail for Bainbridge Passage and your final destination for the day at Bainbridge East Arm. This area is teeming with wildlife in the water and on land. Explore the coast on kayaks with your guide, and keep an eye out for eagles, otters, deer, and the occasional bear!

After a day of adventure settle into the dining room for one last gourmet meal freshly prepared by the Chef. Over a glass of wine and fresh-caught prawns you can share about your time on the boat with your new-found friends.

Day 6

Knight Island Passage - Perry Passage - Return to Whittier

The chef will prepare your final breakfast onboard the M/V Sea Star before the crew pulls the anchor for passage back to Whittier. Look for whales as you travel through Knight Island Passage and Perry Passage. Enjoy lunch while underway and visit Rookery Falls before docking in Whittier. Say goodbye to your crew before meeting your private driver/guide and traveling back to Anchorage for your departing flight, or continuing on with an extended tour of Alaska.

Main Ship

The M/V Sea Star is an 85-foot classic comfort yacht that provides smooth sailing through Prince William Sound and along the Kenai Peninsula. Originally built in 1965 the yacht has been beautifully maintained and updated to provide classic charm. The main salon hosts three different seating areas, a dining salon that comfortably seating for 12, and a spacious foredeck with a padded settee complete with waterproof blankets, perfect for wildlife viewing.

Staterooms

Each of the yacht’s staterooms includes its own private bathroom with shower, storage, and screened opening portholes that let in the fresh sea breeze. One bathroom includes a tub/shower combination. Each of the four rooms is configured differently and can accommodate 1-4 guests. Get cozy in your comfortable bed complete with luxury linens at the end of an adventurous day.

This small ship cruise typically operates out of Whittier, located 60 scenic miles south of Anchorage. Whittier is accessible by vehicle or by passage on the Alaska Railroad.

Each gourmet meal onboard the M/V Sea Star is freshly prepared based on each guest’s dietary specifications by the yacht chef. The cuisine features locally caught seafood, premium meats, and fresh fruits and vegetables.  The chef will prepare fresh pastries daily and will help pair fine wines and beer with each gourmet dinner.

Prince William Sound and Kenai Fjords National Park offer endless possibilities for viewing wildlife and glaciers, kayaking, hiking, and beachcombing. New adventures are located right off the Sea Star’s bow. The ship is much more nimble than a typical cruise ship so it can  navigate as close as possible to the face of glaciers and into quiet coves.  The vessel’s convenient swim step provides easy access in and out of the ship’s kayaks or boarding the skiff used for excursions.

All activities and adventures are included when sailing on the M/V Sea Star, but guests can also choose to relax and take in the scenery from onboard.
